With further reference to our message posted on 22.09.2008, the Forum brings to your notice the Official Communiqué of Mysore Unit reiterating the stand taken by the BOPF. The Forum appreciates the democratic process adopted by the ABOA - Mysore Unit to take a stand in favor of merger, which reflects the desire of majority of members. The Forum has been informed by a large number of officers of other ABs that their respective units of ABOA will take a similar stand since majority of officers in all the ABs are in favour of a larger SBI. The Forum is of the view that no unit of ABOA will try to negate the desire of their membership and will articulate to the wishes of their members.

The Forum appeals to all the officers of Associate Banks to respond to their conscience and to express their will by not participating in indefinite strike called against merger. No Association/Union can exist by forcing its members to go against their individual benefits, which is likely to be more secured in larger State Bank. By reporting for duty on 20th October onwards, the officers of State Bank group will show their commitment to the Indian Economy at this crucial juncture as well as will show their desire for consolidation.

It is heartening to note that the Mysore Unit of ABOA has expressed the desire of its membership through its circular . It will be in order for other units of ABOA and the officers association of SBIR to come out to represent the desire of their members. It is very important to build strong banks with adequate financial strength to support allround growth of our country. The present financial situation of the nation requires smooth functioning of the banks and any disruption by way of strikes may be considered as a deliberate effort to distablise the economy. It is in the benefit of all to avert such strikes.

It's surprising that you have now come to appeal to the our intelligent, nationalistic, patriotic and committed officers of SBG to report for duty on 20th October 2008. I am sure they will. They are aware how these unions played with our future on pension issue... They are aware how our interests are being jeopardised so that the interests of office bearers could be protected... They are aware of the new dawn waiting for them on 20th October... They are also aware of the obstructions being created by association on the other side of the fence, who wants better benefits for themselves... Officers of ABs arise. You have nothing to lose except inequity in your service conditions vis-a-vis SBI officers, and your poor service conditions...

Ye Officers of the Associate Banks!
Please do not believe if somebody says that the strike was deferred because the SBI Management here at Mumbai has accepted any of the demands made by the Federation. As expected, only YOU are the LOSER! Wait for the TRUTH to unravel.
Satyameva Jayate!
